Bread Box Bakery & Cafe

"Scratch Baking Since 1984"

Hello to the faithful Bread Box Bakery & Cafe following from the new owner, Aaron Fedorow! We are pleased to let everyone know that we are now open and operating!

However, for the time being, we are running on limited menus for our breakfast and lunch deli as well as our bakery items.

As time allows, we will continue to add your favorites that you will come back for time and again!

One new change you will see is that we have added a breakfast deli. Another exciting new change is that we will be opening our rustic, antiquated Bed & Breakfast for use by mid-August! Look for updates here on our website so that you can book your next stay in Shipshewana with us!

Thank you for your loyal patronage! Please drop in and give us your favorite requests so that we can add them to the menu as soon as possible!

Exterior of the Bread Box & Cafe

There is nothing like having a wonderful treat from the Bread Box Bakery & Cafe.

The Bread Box Bakery & Cafe offers 11 kinds of breads, saucer-sized cookies, flaky crust pies, giant cinnamon rolls, cakes and many varieties of mouth-watering deserts.

The Bread Box Bakery and Cafe of Shipshewana also carries their own homemade jams, and jellies created next door at the Scherger’s Kettle Cannery.

Lunch is served at the Cafe located inside the store.  Choose from the many types of sandwiches or paninis served on homemade bread.  Try a fresh salad or a bowl of soup made from scratch. Because of the historical location of the Bread Box Bakery & Cafe, customers have the unique experience of dining in the home of Shipshewana’s founder. They can also enjoy outdoor dining in a garden setting or on the large wraparound front porch.

The large front porch, gazebo and arbor offer a great view of small town Amish life.  What a fun way to relax during a busy day of shopping!
